Oregon HOSA: The Never-Ending Beat

Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) provides a unique program of leadership development, motivation and recognition exclusively for secondary, postsecondary, adult and collegiate students enrolled in Health Sciences Technology Education (HSTE) programs.  HOSA is 100% health care!

HOSA is not a club to which a few students in school belong.  HOSA is a professional student organization and a powerful instructional tool that works best when it is integrated into the health sciences curriculum and classroom.  Through the HSTE/HOSA partnership, local HOSA chapter activities are supervised and taught by the classroom instructor.

Participation in HOSA provides students with a pathway to achieving diploma requirements.  Students participate in a variety of classroom activities, job shadows, internships and field based investigations.  Through these activities, students gain skills in personal management, problem solving, communication, teamwork, employment foundations and career development.

Since it's inception in 1976, HOSA has grown to over 80,000 members in 43 states.  Oregon HOSA was chartered in 1978 and now has over 400 members representing 12 chapters.  For information on how to join call 503.385.4742.
